Jin Woo Bae was born in Seoul, South Korea. His early childhood years were just like that of any other average child, with one difference – he wanted to be a good pianist. That interest was sparked when he saw a person playing the piano on television. He began his piano studies at the age of seven.
Jin Woo currently studies at the Yewon Arts Middle School, which was the first school in Korea to begin early education in the arts. He has developed his talent artistically and creatively while studying with professor Ja Eun Koo since 2014.
He is a prize winner in several piano competitions, including the Korea Herald Music Competition (1st prize, junior, 2016 ); the Korea Young Artist Music Concours (1st prize, 2016); the Korean Chopin competition (2nd prize, junior, 2016); the Eumyoun Piano Competition (2nd prize, junior, 2016); the Eumaksekye Piano Concours (1st prize, first half year, 2016); the Chung-Ang University Piano Competition (2nd prize, junior, 2015), and the Seoul Arts College Music Concours (1st prize, junior,2014).
As a student of the Music Academy Program in the YeonCheon DMZ International Music Festival 2016 in Korea, Jin Woo joined the Young Artist Concert audition and received a prize, earning him an opportunity to perform with the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra in 2017. He is planning to go to the Seoul Arts High School, where he will continue his piano studies to enable him to become the “good pianist” he dreamed of being from his early childhood.
