Jaeden Izik-Dzurko is a resident of Salmon Arm, BC, Canada and currently studies with Ian Parker and Dr. Corey Hamm. He is an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music, having completed his practical and theoretical requirements with Distinction. Jaeden has won numerous awards and recognitions in both Provincial and National competitions. Most recently, he was awarded first place in piano and went on to earn the Grand Prize Award for all disciplines in the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals’ National competition.
Jaeden has performed as a soloist with the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra and has collaborated with singers, instrumentalists and chamber ensembles, both local and international. He regularly organizes and presents solo recitals to benefit both local community projects and international humanitarian organizations. In addition to his solo classical music, he regularly performs in various community jazz ensembles, both on piano and trumpet.
He has participated in lessons and master classes with numerous accomplished mentors, including Hung-Kuan Chen, Krzysztof Jabłoński, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Minsoo Sohn, and Dang Thai Son. He has collaborated with musicians and ensembles from around the world in several renowned international programs, including Morningside Music Bridge and the Aspen Summer Music Festival and School.
Before deciding to pursue the piano single-heartedly, Jaeden trained and competed year-round in swimming and nordic skiing, achieving provincial medals in both sports, and breaking two provincial swimming records. Jaeden also enjoys playing tennis and biking in the mountains near his home.
