Sixteen year old Tristan Paradee began piano lessons at the age of 8, and currently studies with Professor Hans Boepple at Santa Clara University.
At age 10, Tristan won the Westside Music Foundations’ Piano Concerto Competition and performed with the Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ivan Shulman. Tristan has twice won the Young Artists World Piano Concerto Competition in St. Paul, Minnesota, and performed with the Festival Orchestra, conducted by Marlene Pauley – once at age 12 and again in July of 2016. At age 13, he was the Discovery Prize winner for the Young Musicians Foundation and performed with Misha Dichter and the Debut Orchestra at Royce Hall at UCLA.
Tristan was a 2016 finalist and one of the 5 winners of the Gina Bachauer International Piano competition and performed with the Utah Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, he won first place at the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition in his age category and the prize for best Étude for all divisions
Tristan has participated in master classes with John Perry, Pavlina Dokovska, Alexander Braginsky, Nelita True, William Nabore, Max Levinson, Marina Lomazov and Alessandro Dejevan. He also studies composition with Professor Ian Krouse at UCLA, and takes conducting instruction in the summers from Courtney Lewis, assistant conductor with the New York Philharmonic. He is a three year member of the Young Musicians Foundation Chamber Music Program.
2014 proved to be a year of new beginnings when Tristan not only made his acting debut in two different films: “The Boulevard” and “The Piano Nerd”, but also composed and arranged music for both films. In his spare time, Tristan enjoys tennis, Brazilian capoeira, juggling, cooking, and one day hopes to conduct an orchestra.
