Lindsey Yang began her musical studies at the age of five and is currently studying with Professor Fabio Bidini and Hyejin Kim. One of Lindsey’s most recent accomplishments includes being chosen as one of the five finalists in the 2021 Gina Bachauer Junior International Piano Competition. Lindsey has won numerous prizes in various competitions including the Los Angeles Liszt International Piano Competition, The 10th Kathryn Gawartin Chopin Competition, American Fine Arts Festival Competition, American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition, and the Liana Cohen Music Festival Competition among others.
In addition to competitions, Lindsey’s major performances include appearing on NPR’s “From the Top” in 2021, her concerto debut in 2018 with the Cherubini Symphony in Perugia, Italy at Music Fest Perugia, as well as solo appearances in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2015 and 2016. Lindsey took part in the concerti-focused master classes with LA Opera Music Director, Maestro James Conlon, at the 2022 Colburn Piano Seminar. She has also participated in master classes with renowned pianists such as Yoheved Kaplinsky, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Ilana Vered, Douglas Humpherys, Joseph Rackers, Edward Wolanin, and Sasha Starcevich.
Lindsey is a junior attending the Colburn Music Academy in Los Angeles while fulfilling her academic studies through a homeschooling program, iLEAD Exploration. She is active in chamber music and regularly performs for her community.
Outside of piano, Lindsey enjoys painting, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
