HYUNJIN ROH – SOUTH KOREA (24)

Hyunjin Roh is a pianist from South Korea who commenced her musical journey at the age of 11. She cultivated a strong passion for music, which has enabled her to express herself effectively. Roh completed her Bachelor’s degree at Seoul National University, studying under Hee-Sung Joo. Throughout her career, Roh has received several prizes, including Second Prize at the 2023 Borderland Chopin International Competition, an achievement that further motivated her artistic pursuits. She was also honored as a semifinalist at the 2021 Leeds International Competition. At this point, she began to receive international recognition, and she is now committed to pursuing musical growth to expand her performance opportunities.

She has also secured first prizes in various prestigious Korean competitions, including Joongang, Ewha Kyeonghyang, and Youngchang Piano Competition. Her debut concert at the Kumho Art Hall in 2014 marked a significant milestone in her career. Since then, she has performed at esteemed venues, including Jordan Hall and Williams Hall at the New England Conservatory, as well as on prominent stages in South Korea, such as Inchun Hall at the Seoul Arts Center, Shinyoung Chamber Hall, Bucheon Art Center, and Lotte Concert Hall. She is actively involved in performing not only solo recitals but also a diverse range of ensemble performances, including piano trios and duos with strings and winds. Roh is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the New England Conservatory in Boston, where she is studying under Wha-Kyung Byun.
