Angeni Wang has earned numerous awards at regional, provincial, and international levels. She began playing piano at age 6, and currently studies under Professor Xiao Li. Her achievements include the 2012 Highest Mark Trophy for her Associate of The Royal Conservatory (ARCT) Diploma Exam for Performers, and the “Most Outstanding Performer in All Divisions” Trophy in the 2012 Richmond Festival. She was selected as the representative of the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival to compete in the 2012 BC Performing Arts Provincial Competition, where she won 3rd Prize.
Angeni won First Prize in the 2011 and 2013 Delta Youth Orchestra Concerto Competitions, affording her the chance to perform concerti with the Delta Youth Symphony Orchestra on several occasions. She also earned Third Place at the 2014 Festival Competition at the Oberlin Conservatory. Most recently Angeni gave solo recitals at the Tapestry Centre in Vancouver and the Aberdeen Centre in Richmond, BC, Canada.
Also an active ensemble musician, Angeni is currently a member of a piano trio, as well as part of a piano duo with her brother, Arthur Wang. In November of 2014, the duo team won First Prize in the 16 and under category of the IV International Northwest Piano Ensemble Competition. They were also invited as soloists to perform Mozart’s Double Piano Concerto with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. Angeni has been invited to play again with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra in May, 2015 to perform Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto.
