Elliot Wuu began piano studies at the age of 6. Currently he is a San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College student, studying piano with Professor Yoshikazu Nagai. He has also received mentoring from Professor John Perry and Ms. Rose Chen. Elliot is a sophomore at Valley Christian High School and Conservatory of the Arts in San Jose, California.
Notable top prizes Elliot has received include First Prize and a special award in the Kaufman International Youth Piano Competition, First Prize in the 10th International Russian Music Piano Competition, First Prize in the ENKOR Piano and Violin Competition, Winner of the California State as well as the Southwest Division MTNA Competitions, and Second Prize of the MTNA National Competition. He was the First Prize and Centennial Award winner at the Pacific Musical Society Competition, and winner of the Piano Award at the Mondavi Young Artists Competition. Most Recently, Elliot was awarded the Silver Medal and the special prize for the best performance of Russian composers in the 7th Bösendorfer and Yamaha USASU International Piano Competition.
In the recent years, Elliot has performed in major venues across the globe. Additionally Elliot is a Lang Lang International Music Foundation Young Scholar. In 2014, he performed with Lang Lang at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City and on the WQXR live broadcast. In February 2015, he was featured on NPR’s From the Top. He has performed in master classes with Ruth Slenczynska, Dame Fanny Waterman, Antonio Pompa- Baldi, Matti Raekallio, Duane Hulbert, Niel Immelman and Yin Chengzhong.
